Album Cover

Here's something that I drew and colored for my band, Auburn Hills. All in all it took about 7 to 8 hours to finish. Not bad...but very tiring.

a new direction

Doing a strip about penguins was fun...but I figured it would eventually turn out to be just a bunch of fish jokes. So now I'm focusing the strip on middle schoolers, which in my opinion is a more absurd topic.

The Great Wall

I did an initial drawing of the Great Wall in pen and ink. When I went to color it I was conflicted on how to approach it so I did it in two different ways.

My Art Blog

I do comics for the school I go to and for a class I need to do a studio project and this is it! I'll explain how I do them. First I draw the comic out in pencil. Then I outline the comic in pen (specifically a micron .03 pen). The final steps are done in photoshop where I adjust the levels of contrast and then shade the characters in using various layers. The purpose of having my students do a blog would be to have them use it as a form of portfolio where they could preserve their work and have it more readily available for the teacher on the day its due.

New York at Night

I did this one on a little piece of paper that was sitting by the computer in the library at the school i go to. i inverted the colors in photoshop to give it a scratchboard kind of feeling.

something stinks...

I'm having a hard time deciding whether I like comics when they're colored or just shaded in photoshop. Honestly I dont know if I like comics when they're altered by computers at all, it seems to take away some of their artistic value. Hand drawn ones are more appreciable and are more fun to look at because you can study them and look for small details. The small mistakes are appreciable to because it makes them seem more human.

...

More stuff to find in the hills and cave.

i spend too much time thinking of post titles

Maybe we'll include a fixing the plane and flying level? Might be hard and wont happen but would be fun...blasting zombie mummies from a plane. If not we'll just use it as a piece of the puzzle or something.
